Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-1 FC Barcelona

Barcelona played Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night in a fantastic contest to conclude the tie that began at home last week. The England team came into the game with everything on the line, having previously played to a 2-2 tie.

The Catalans promptly seized the lead thanks to a penalty by Robert Lewandowski and dominated the opening quarter in general. But, barely a minute into the second half, Manchester United’s Fred equalized, and they were lost.

Antony then gave the Red Demons the lead and put the visitors on the back foot. The Blaugrana’s European match has come to an end with a 2-1 defeat (4-3 overall).

The player rankings for Xavi’s team have been released by robinkebgh following the match in Manchester.

Andre Marc Ter Stegen: 6

Bruno Fernandes forced the German to make a save in the first half, and he also made a save from inside the box in the second half.

He was defeated twice in the second half, but there wasn’t much he could do to stop the goals.

Kounde, Jules: 6.5

Made his debut at right back and performed admirably to keep Marcus Rashford out of the game for forty-five minutes. Surprisingly played a significant role in the subsequent part of the attack to free up the heavily marked Raphinha. Had a fantastic opportunity at the hour mark, but David de Gea stopped him.

Ronald Araujo: 7

Survived on his own in the Barcelona region to calmly maneuver United’s attacks. Additionally, he was adept at distribution and was always a part of the team’s buildup.

exhibited a shaky appearance in the opening minutes of the second half and was in poor position to score an equalizer. Nine defensive actions were recorded the night before Marcos Alonso was taken off.

Christensen, Andreas: 6.5

Started the game after missing the first leg for most of it. Under United’s pressure, he remained composed and did not falter.

After the break, started to act nervous with a poor clearance that set Rashford off. Recovered well, but was ill-positioned once more for the second United goal.

Balde’s Alejandro: 7

By a wide margin, the first-half MVP. Many of the team’s attacks down the left were aided by Balde’s quickness and spatial awareness. With clever movement, he won the penalty kick that gave Barcelona a 3-2 lead in the match.

However, he struggled to gain ground on both of United’s goals, so his defense was subpar.

Kessie, Franck: 6.5

Kessie took on the role of creator in the absence of Pedri. The Ivory Coast international took a very different approach to the challenge than his younger teammate, but his disruptive runs and smart decisions caused problems for Manchester United inside the box.

Even though he didn’t play well in the second half, he was one of the best players on the field.

Busquets, Sergio: 6.5

Started his first game since coming back from an injury and played flawlessly with his casual touches to control the play and keep the ball in the first half. However, during the second period, the captain lost his momentum and struggled to keep up with the counterattack from the opposition.

De Jong, Frenkie: 7.5

The Dutchman made his debut against the team that so fervently desired his signature in the summer and played a brutal first half. As he completed three dribbles in the first period, De Jong’s touches and runs appeared effortless. It goes without saying that the Dutchman was everywhere when he lost possession of the ball.

Roberto Sergio: 7

Roberto started on the left wing in place of the injured Gavi and played a solid first half with three crucial passes. He constantly drifted centrally into spaces, much like Gavi, to create buildup sequences.

In place of Ferran Torres, left in the 70th minute.

Robert Lewandowski 6.5

A significantly improved first half was provided by Lewandowski, who frequently moved in between the lines to pose threats. Converted the penalty that Balde had won to give Barcelona their first goal of the night.

insignificant in the early stages of the period following the break, with little involvement. Overall, the second half was subpar. In the 93rd minute, a big chance was turned away.

Raphinha: 5 The Brazilian played a relatively quiet first half and appeared to be heavily marked by United’s defense. did not contribute as much as he would have liked to the involvement.

Better in the second half, but some of the decisions were questionable. In the 77th minute, gave the ball away for United’s second goal and was replaced by Ansu Fati.

REPLACES

Ferran Torres: After replacing Raphinha7 was active down the right flank and made some inspiring passes and dribbles.

Fati, Ansu: NA Only briefly visible after joining.

Alonso Marcos:

NA Sub for Araujo late.
